Starting a Club
Personal Profile
As a student, starting a club is a straightforward process. Here is what you do!
1. Complete the Club Recognition Form and send it to outreach@cncsu.ca
This form goes over what your plans are for the club and the purpose. Clubs must be unique in purpose and description so we recommend having a look at the list of active clubs and course unions before filling this form out.
You can download the form by clicking here.
2. The Membership Outreach Coordinator will reach out to you
Damon, the Membership Outreach Coordinator, will reach out to you with next steps. This is where you will get important information such as how you will access your member list, relevant login details and more.
3. Wait for the Club to be ratified at the next CNCSU Executive Meeting
After all registration steps are complete (confirmation can be given by the Membership Outreach Coordinator), clubs will be ratified by the CNCSU Board at the next biweekly meeting. Clubs can now register at any time throughout the year, and funding will be distributed on a prorated basis at the discretion of the Students' Union Executive Committee.

Setting Up Your Executive
If there are any changes to the executive of the club, please send an updated list with the following information:
- Full Name
- Student Number
- Position

Clubs must have at least three (3) executive positions, but are able to have more.
Other things
Equipment Requests
All tech requests (Moving TV, Computers, and more) are done through the CNC Media Services Window. Media Services is located beside the CNC Learning Commons.
(AKA CNC Library)
Financials and Cheque Requesitions
Every club that is approved through the CNCSU will have a bank account. Clubs are encouraged to fundraise to increase the amount of money available for club activities.

Club Executives can access these funds by first paying out of pocket and then bring receipts to the CNCSU Office.
Renewing your Club
Each year, clubs must resubmit their current and/or changed executive to the Membership Outreach Coordinator in order to be considered active.

Clubs that are inactive for 2+ years will have their allocated funds be put in the general club account. Clubs that are revived after the moving of club funds will be considered new.
