The Bridge of Life

Life is a bridge, both firm and frail,
A path we walk, a winding trail.
Each plank a step, each rail a guide,
Through shifting tides and changing skies.
In youth, we run with hearts so light,
No fear of dark, no thought of night.
The road ahead is bright and wide,
With endless dreams on either side.
Then comes the time of weight and choice,
Of lessons learned in muted voice.
The bridge now sways with trials deep,
Yet onward still, we walk, we keep.
With silver strands and slower pace,
We pause to see each cherished place.
The journey fades, the light turns dim,
Yet love and memories never thin.
At last, we cross to shores unknown,
Leaving footprints carved in stone.
For life’s a bridge that all must tread,
A path that never truly ends.
